GMI Co-Founder to Speak in Qatar

Genomics Medicine Ireland Co-Founder, Dr. Sean Ennis, will be speaking at the Sidra international conference and symposium in collaboration with Nature Genetics in Doha, Qatar 11-13 December. The conference theme is Nature versus Nurture.

In this symposium, world-renowned scientists and clinicians will present state-of-the-art scientific discoveries, will address the interactions between nature and nurture and how the genetic patterns may be altered by a life experience, nutrition as well as the surrounding environment. The symposium will also address how these interactions are tackled and implemented in health care.

An exhibition from world-leading technology and service providers will run in parallel with the symposium presentations.

This symposium is organised as part of the Sidra Symposia Series and is directed towards academia, researchers, physicians, healthcare providers and regulatory agents involved in the field of genomics and genomic medicine.

ASHG 2016The annual meeting of the American Society of Human Genetics was held October 18-22 in Vancouver, Canada. GMI’s Sean Ennis co-presented a workshop with WuXi NextCODE’s Jeff Gulcher, MD, Ph.D. and Mark Caulfield, FMedSci of Genomics England, entitled “Insights from the World’s Leading Precision Medicine Initiatives”. The programme outlined how leading precision medicine initiatives are solving the unprecedented challenge of storing and efficiently mining population-scale sequence data.
