Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

An estimated 40,000 people in Ireland are living with IBD, an umbrella term for chronic inflammatory gastrointestinal disorders such as Crohn’s or Ulcerative Colitis primarily affecting adults in the prime of their life. GMI is conducting pioneering research into these conditions to identify genetic markers that can help diagnose, predict disease severity and identify personalised treatments for people with IBD.
