Inflammatory Skin Conditions

Skin conditions affect approximately one in three people at some point in their lives. GMI’s Inflammatory Skin Disease research programme is exploring five conditions: atopic dermatitis (or eczema), acne vulgaris, hidradenitis suppurativa, plaque psoriasis, and chronic spontaneous urticaria (or chronic hives). GMI’s research hopes to identify genetic markers that can help deepen our understanding of inflammatory skin disorders. This can help speed up diagnosis, predict how severe a condition may become, and identify new treatment options.
